LESSON II — CHAPTER III — Sacral: The Language Of Feeling

Clairsentience, clairgustance, emotional awareness, energetic sensitivity, and learning the difference between your feelings and everyone else's damn feelings.

WELCOME TO THE SACRAL

We've established something important in the Root:

Your body gives you information.

Now we're moving one level deeper.

Because sometimes what you notice isn't simply: "My stomach feels weird."

Sometimes it's: "I suddenly feel incredibly sad."

Or: "I don't know why, but I feel uncomfortable around this person."

Or: "I walked into the room and my entire mood changed."

Or: "I was perfectly fine five minutes ago. Why am I suddenly emotionally exhausted?"

Welcome to the Sacral.

This is where things can get a little… feely.

Very feely.

Bring tissues.

And possibly snacks.

MEET THE SACRAL CHAKRA

The Sacral chakra is traditionally known as Svādhiṣṭhāna and is commonly associated with the lower abdomen/pelvic region.

In modern chakra-based systems, it is often connected with themes such as:

  • Emotion

  • Pleasure

  • Creativity

  • Sensuality

  • Relationships

  • Desire

  • Flow

  • Emotional expression

  • Connection

For our purposes, we're going to use the Sacral as a symbolic doorway into emotional perception and sensitivity.

And one of the psychic senses we'll explore here is:

CLAIRSENTIENCE

From French roots meaning roughly "clear feeling."

The basic idea is that information is experienced through feeling.

That might mean an emotional impression.

A physical sensation.

A sudden sense of comfort or discomfort.

A feeling of being drawn toward something.

Or a strong reaction that seems to arrive before you consciously understand why.

Now…

Does that automatically mean you've developed supernatural emotional Wi-Fi?

No.

Could it sometimes be your brain picking up subtle cues?

Absolutely.

Could someone interpret the experience spiritually?

They might.

Could you simply be highly emotionally sensitive?

Also possible.

And that's why we're interested in the experience itself rather than rushing to declare what caused it.

WHAT DOES CLAIRSENTIENCE ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE?

There isn't one universal experience.

For some people, it may feel like an emotion appearing suddenly.

For others, it might be more physical.

You could notice:

A heaviness in your chest.

Warmth.

A sinking feeling.

Butterflies.

Tension.

A sudden sense of calm.

Tears appearing unexpectedly.

A strong urge to move closer.

A strong urge to step away.

A feeling of being emotionally "pulled" toward something.

Or something much harder to describe: "I can't explain it. I just feel… something."

Congratulations.

You've encountered one of the least convenient features of being human: feelings don't always come with subtitles.

FEELING IS INFORMATION.

BUT INFORMATION IS NOT ALWAYS AN ANSWER.

This distinction is going to save you a lot of trouble.

Imagine you meet someone for the first time.

You immediately feel uncomfortable.

You don't know why.

That feeling is worth noticing.

But there are many possible explanations.

Maybe:

  • Their body language is unusual.

  • Their tone reminds you of someone from your past.

  • They're standing too close.

  • Something about their behavior genuinely concerns you.

  • You're already anxious.

  • You're tired.

  • They remind you of someone you don't trust.

  • You're picking up on a subtle social cue.

  • You simply don't like their personality.

  • Your brain is making a prediction based on incomplete information.

Or perhaps you interpret the experience spiritually.

You are allowed to explore that possibility.

But you don't have to decide immediately.

A feeling can be meaningful without being a perfect explanation of reality.

That is a very important distinction.

THE SACRAL & EMOTIONAL WEATHER

Here's another way to think about it.

Your emotional state is a little like weather.

Sometimes you wake up and everything feels sunny.

Sometimes: 🌧️

Sometimes: 🌪️

Sometimes: the weather app says "fine" and yet somehow you are emotionally experiencing the collapse of civilization. 😂

Your internal weather can change because of:

  • Sleep

  • Hormones

  • Stress

  • Food

  • Relationships

  • Memories

  • Environment

  • Physical health

  • Expectations

  • Social interactions

  • Something you saw or heard

  • Something you haven't consciously processed yet

And sometimes you may enter a room and feel an emotional shift before you understand what caused it.

That's where environmental and emotional sensitivity can overlap.

Instead of immediately asking: "Whose energy am I feeling?"

Try asking: "What changed?"

That question is much more useful.

YOURS, MINE, OR JUST… HUMAN?

One of the biggest challenges for emotionally sensitive people is figuring out:

Is this feeling mine?

This doesn't necessarily require a supernatural explanation.

Humans naturally respond to other humans.

We mirror facial expressions.

We respond to tone.

We notice posture.

We react to tension.

We pick up emotional cues.

We can become uncomfortable when the people around us are uncomfortable.

Sometimes you walk into a room where everyone is stressed…

…and suddenly you're stressed too.

That's not necessarily psychic absorption.

It might simply be emotional contagion.

And honestly, humans are already ridiculously good at catching each other's moods.

We don't need to add paranormal Bluetooth to the situation.

THE SACRAL CHECK-IN

When you suddenly experience a strong emotion, pause and ask:

1. WAS I ALREADY FEELING SOMETHING?

Maybe the feeling didn't appear from nowhere.

Maybe it was already there quietly.

2. DID SOMETHING JUST HAPPEN?

A conversation.

A message.

A look.

A sound.

A memory.

A change in the environment.

3. DID SOMEONE ELSE'S EMOTION CHANGE?

Did the atmosphere shift?

Did someone become tense?

Did someone become excited?

4. IS THIS A FAMILIAR FEELING?

Does it remind you of something?

5. DOES THE FEELING CHANGE WHEN I LEAVE?

This one can be interesting.

If you leave a situation and suddenly feel completely different, that's information worth recording.

Not proof.

Information.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EMPATHY AND ABSORPTION

Let's say someone you care about is having a terrible day.

You notice their sadness.

You understand it.

You feel compassion.

You might even feel sad yourself.

That's empathy.

But then there's another experience:

They are upset… and suddenly you become overwhelmed.

Their mood becomes your mood.

Their crisis becomes your crisis.

Their nervous system apparently sends you an invitation and you RSVP YES, I'LL TAKE THE WHOLE THING.

😂

That's where emotional boundaries become important.

Being sensitive doesn't mean you need to absorb everything.

You can care about someone without carrying them.

You can understand someone without fixing them.

You can feel compassion without becoming responsible for their emotional state.

That's a powerful Sacral lesson.

A SACRAL BOUNDARY

Try this sentence: "I can feel what you're feeling without making it mine."

You don't have to imagine invisible walls.

You don't need a crystal.

You don't need to perform a seventeen-step cleansing ritual because your friend had a bad afternoon.

Just notice the distinction.

Their feeling exists.

Your feeling exists.

They can exist at the same time.

They don't have to become the same feeling.

WHEN YOUR EMOTIONS ARE LOUD

Sometimes the problem isn't that you're sensing someone else's emotions.

Sometimes your own emotions are extremely loud.

And when you're overwhelmed, every sensation can feel like a message.

Anger.

Fear.

Excitement.

Attraction.

Jealousy.

Grief.

Anticipation.

Hope.

All of these can influence perception.

Imagine you're terrified someone is going to reject you.

They take three hours to answer your message.

Your brain: "They hate me."

Then: "They've lost interest."

Then: "I knew this would happen."

Then: "I'm never trusting anyone again."

And finally: starts designing a revenge album. 😂

But what actually happened?

Someone hasn't replied yet.

That's it.

Your emotion created a story around incomplete information.

This doesn't mean your feelings are invalid.

It means:

feelings can influence interpretation.

And that is exactly why emotional awareness matters when exploring intuition.

SACRAL INTUITION & RELATIONSHIPS

The Sacral can be especially interesting when it comes to relationships.

You may notice:

  • Feeling relaxed around someone immediately.

  • Feeling tense around someone without knowing why.

  • Feeling energized after spending time with someone.

  • Feeling drained after certain interactions.

  • Feeling unusually drawn toward someone.

  • Feeling like you need distance.

  • Feeling emotionally "off" after a conversation.

Don't immediately label these experiences as:

GOOD PERSON.

or

BAD PERSON.

Instead, ask: "What happens to me when I'm around this person?"

Do you feel like yourself?

Can you relax?

Can you speak honestly?

Do you feel respected?

Do you feel pressured?

Do you become anxious?

Do you constantly second-guess yourself?

Do you feel like you need to perform?

These questions are often more useful than trying to determine someone's "energy."

Because sometimes your body and emotions are noticing very ordinary interpersonal information.

And that information can still matter.

(We will talk about energy eventually because it's a really important topic.)

THE SACRAL & CREATIVITY

There's another reason the Sacral is interesting for psychic exploration: creativity.

The Sacral is traditionally associated with creative flow, pleasure, desire, and emotional expression.

And if you've ever made art, written something, danced, played music, or created something without fully knowing where it came from…

you've probably experienced this: "I don't know what I'm doing."

followed approximately three minutes later by:

"WAIT."

"I LOVE THIS."

Creative intuition can feel surprisingly similar to other intuitive experiences.

An idea appears.

A color feels right.

A melody arrives.

A character suddenly develops a personality you didn't plan.

You write a sentence and think: "Where the hell did THAT come from?"

Sometimes the answer is your subconscious.

Sometimes it's pattern recognition.

Sometimes it's accumulated experience.

Sometimes you simply got into a creative flow state.

And if you personally understand that experience spiritually, you're allowed to explore that interpretation too.

You don't have to choose one explanation immediately.

You can simply create.

THE "YES / NO" BODY GAME

Here's a simple experiment.

Find a quiet place.

Think of something you know is true.

For example: "My name is ___."

Notice your body.

Don't force anything.

Now think of something you know is false.

For example: "I am currently living on Mars."

Hopefully. 😂

Notice your body again.

Did anything change?

Maybe.

Maybe not.

You might notice:

  • Relaxation

  • Tension

  • Warmth

  • Tightness

  • Lightness

  • A subtle leaning sensation

  • Nothing whatsoever

Now try asking yourself simple, low-stakes questions.

Not: "Will I meet my soulmate this year?"

Let's not give your nervous system a heart attack.

Try:

"Do I want tea?"

"Do I want to go outside?"

"Do I want to wear this shirt?"

Notice what happens.

The goal isn't to create a supernatural yes/no detector.

It's to become familiar with how your body responds to decisions.

WHEN THE BODY AND THE MIND DISAGREE

This happens.

A lot.

Your brain says: "This is a great idea."

Your body says: "Absolutely the hell not."

Or:

Your brain says: "This is terrifying."

Your body says: "Actually… let's do it."

Which one is right?

There isn't a universal answer.

Sometimes the body notices danger.

Sometimes fear is protecting you from something unfamiliar.

Sometimes excitement feels like anxiety.

Sometimes anxiety feels like intuition.

Sometimes your rational mind has information your emotions don't.

And sometimes your emotions are noticing something your conscious mind hasn't processed yet.

That's why we're not building a hierarchy where:

Body = always correct.

Instead:

BODY + MIND + CONTEXT = BETTER INFORMATION.

Your goal isn't to choose one and ignore the others.

It's to learn how they interact.

A SACRAL EXPERIMENT: THE EMOTIONAL WEATHER REPORT

For the next few days, once or twice a day, write:

MY EMOTIONAL WEATHER:

Right now I feel:

The strongest sensation in my body is:

The emotion feels like:

What happened before this feeling appeared?

Am I around other people?

Could I be responding to their mood?

Could something physical be influencing me?

What story is my mind creating?

Don't try to make the answer mystical.

Some entries might be: "Happy. Had coffee. Sun is out."

Excellent.

Some might be: "Irritated. Didn't sleep."

Also excellent.

Some might be: "I suddenly felt sad while talking to Sarah."

Interesting.

Then ask: "What happened next?"

That's where your journal becomes useful.

LEARNING YOUR EMOTIONAL SIGNATURE

Over time, you may start noticing patterns.

Maybe anxiety always feels like pressure in your chest.

Maybe excitement feels like warmth in your stomach.

Maybe something genuinely uncomfortable makes you suddenly go quiet.

Maybe being around certain people consistently leaves you exhausted.

Maybe creative ideas arrive when you're walking.

Maybe your best decisions happen when you stop forcing them.

These patterns become part of your personal emotional vocabulary.

And this is where intuitive development can become genuinely interesting.

Not because you suddenly unlock magical powers.

But because you become more familiar with yourself.

You start recognizing: "Oh. I know this feeling."

And sometimes that's enough.

DON'T CONFUSE INTENSITY WITH TRUTH

This one deserves its own section.

A strong feeling is not automatically a correct feeling.

Fear can be intense.

Attraction can be intense.

Anger can be intense.

Excitement can be intense.

Grief can be overwhelming.

None of those emotions automatically tell you what is objectively true.

Intensity tells you: "Pay attention."

It doesn't necessarily tell you: "This interpretation is correct."

That's an important distinction.

The louder the emotion, the more useful it can be to slow down before making major conclusions.

THE SACRAL AND PLEASURE

The Sacral isn't only about uncomfortable emotions.

It's also about noticing what feels good.

Pleasure is information too.

What makes you feel alive?

What makes you curious?

What makes you laugh?

What activities make time disappear?

What environments make you relax?

What people make you feel safe enough to be yourself?

What creative activities make you lose track of the clock?

Spirituality doesn't have to be an endless parade of:

healing trauma → cleansing energy → protecting aura → processing emotions → crying → cleansing again.

Sometimes the witch needs to paint something ridiculous.

Sometimes she needs music.

Sometimes she needs dancing around the kitchen.

Sometimes she needs chocolate.

And sometimes she needs to stare at the ceiling for twenty minutes because apparently that's what we're doing today.

Pleasure can be grounding too.

A SMALL SACRAL PRACTICE

Put on a song you genuinely love.

Don't analyze it.

Just listen.

Notice what happens in your body.

Does your breathing change?

Do you smile?

Do you want to move?

Does a memory appear?

Does an emotion surface?

Does your body relax?

Does the song make you feel nostalgic?

Don't ask: "What psychic message is this?"

Ask: "What is this bringing up in me?"

That's enough.

WHEN A FEELING DOESN'T MAKE SENSE

Sometimes an emotion appears and you genuinely don't know why.

That's okay.

You don't have to solve it immediately.

Write: "Something is here. I don't understand it yet."

That sentence is incredibly useful.

It leaves room for curiosity.

You aren't denying the experience.

But you're also not forcing an explanation onto it.

Give it time.

Sometimes the reason becomes obvious later.

Sometimes it disappears.

Sometimes you never figure it out.

Not every mystery requires a sequel.

THE SACRAL CHALLENGE

For the next week, practice noticing emotional shifts.

Whenever your emotional state changes significantly, write down:

What was I feeling before?

What changed?

What do I feel now?

Was another person involved?

Did something happen externally?

Did a memory appear?

Did my body change?

What explanation did my mind immediately create?

Why did I taste that? (Yes it can happen)

Then leave room for another possibility:

"I don't know yet."

That's a perfectly acceptable answer.

Actually…

it's a very powerful one.

Clairgustance — A Taste of the Unknown

Clairgustance, sometimes called clear tasting, is described in some spiritual traditions as receiving intuitive or psychic impressions through the sense of taste.

Someone exploring this concept might report suddenly noticing a taste without an obvious food or drink causing it, or experiencing a vivid taste memory during meditation, visualization, or a moment of reflection.

In a spiritual interpretation, that taste might be explored as a personal symbol or an association with a memory, emotion, or experience.

But here's the important distinction: experiencing a taste is one thing; deciding where it came from is another.

Taste is closely connected to smell, memory, expectation, and physical sensations. An unexpected taste doesn't automatically indicate psychic communication. We're exploring possibilities, not handing out supernatural certificates.

So, why include clairgustance in our Sacral Chakra lesson?

The Sacral Chakra is commonly associated with sensation, pleasure, creativity, emotional experience, and our relationship with the physical world. Within this symbolic framework, exploring taste can become a way to notice sensory awareness and the personal associations we attach to it.

The Taste & Memory Experiment

Step 1 — Establish your baseline.

Notice the ordinary sensations in your mouth. Is there a lingering taste from something you recently ate or drank? Is your mouth dry? Have you brushed your teeth or used mouthwash recently?

No dramatic revelations yet. We're establishing the baseline before the witchcraft-themed detective work begins.

Step 2 — Explore a familiar taste.

Choose a familiar food, such as a raspberry, a piece of dark chocolate, a lemon, or a fresh mint leaf.

If you have the food available, taste it normally and pay attention to its flavor, texture, and the emotions or memories it brings up.

If you don't have it available, try recalling the taste mentally. Notice whether your imagination produces a clear sensory impression.

Step 3 — Try a quiet reflection.

Sit comfortably and let your thoughts settle. You can reflect on a question such as:

What sensations, memories, or emotions am I noticing right now?

Don't force a taste to appear. If nothing happens, nothing happens. You have not failed a secret psychic exam.

Step 4 — Record what you notice.

If you experience a spontaneous taste or a vivid taste memory, write down:

  • What did I experience?

  • Was there a possible physical explanation?

  • What memory or emotion did it bring up?

  • What meaning did I associate with it?

  • Could that meaning be influenced by expectation or recent experiences?

Your Sacral Reminder

Clairgustance can be explored as a spiritual concept, a sensory-awareness exercise, or a way to investigate the relationship between taste, memory, and emotion.

You don't need to force an experience or invent a meaning. Sometimes the most useful discovery is simply realizing how strongly a familiar taste can transport you back to a moment in your life.

TASTE THE MOMENT. NOTICE THE MEMORY. AND PLEASE DON'T EAT RANDOM THINGS BECAUSE THE UNIVERSE SUPPOSEDLY SENT YOU A FLAVOR.

A practical note: Never taste or ingest an unknown substance to investigate a possible impression. If you repeatedly experience unexplained tastes, particularly if they are new, persistent, or accompanied by other symptoms, consider seeking medical advice.

THE SACRAL LESSON

The Sacral teaches us that sensitivity isn't automatically a weakness.

Feeling deeply isn't automatically a problem.

Being affected by your environment doesn't mean you're broken.

But sensitivity also doesn't mean that every emotion belongs to someone else.

You don't have to absorb the world to understand it.

You don't have to carry everyone's sadness.

You don't have to explain every feeling.

You don't have to taste everytime you are channeling.

And you definitely don't have to turn every emotional fluctuation into a supernatural event.

Your feelings are allowed to simply be feelings.

They can be explored.

They can be respected.

They can change.

They can be wrong.

They can be right.

They can contain useful information without containing the entire truth.

RAVN'S SACRAL RULE

FEEL IT.

DON'T IMMEDIATELY BECOME IT.

Let yourself experience the emotion without automatically building an identity around it.

You can feel anger without becoming an angry person.

You can feel fear without deciding something terrible is happening.

You can feel attraction without deciding someone is your destiny.

You can feel sadness without assuming you're broken.

You can feel someone else's emotion without taking responsibility for fixing it.

And you can experience a strange intuitive feeling without immediately announcing:

"THE UNIVERSE HAS SPOKEN."

Maybe it has.

Maybe it hasn't.

Let's collect a little more evidence before we start printing the prophecy on T-shirts. 😂🖤

BEFORE YOU MOVE ON...

Take a moment.

Notice your emotional weather.

Don't change it.

Don't judge it.

Don't explain it.

Just notice.

Ask yourself:

What am I feeling?

Where do I feel it?

What happened before it appeared?

Is this mine to carry?

And finally:

What do I need right now?

Sometimes the answer will be spiritual.

Sometimes emotional.

Sometimes physical.

Sometimes ridiculously simple.

All of those answers count.

The Sacral doesn't ask you to stop feeling.

It teaches you to feel without drowning.

And that's a pretty damn useful skill.
